A Video-Taped Interview with Melissa Etheridge

DOJ Pride (the Department’s association of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) employees and their allies) and the JMD Equal Employment Opportunity Staff will present a videotaped interview of Melissa Etheridge, musician and community activist, as part of the Communities in Common – Diversity and Awareness Brown Bag Lunch Series, from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 14, 2011, in the DOJ Conference Center, Room 7411, RFK Main Justice Building. This interview was conducted by Supervisory Special Agent Deirdre Emmes, LGBT Special Emphasis Program Coordinator of the FBI Los Angeles Field Office in April 2010. During the interview, Ms. Etheridge discussed her experiences as a woman, mother, cancer survivor, lesbian, and rock star. The interview was also the basis for presenting Special Agent Emmes a 2010 Attorney General’s Award for Equal Employment Opportunity. All employees are welcome.
