DOJ Pride and the Department’s Equal Employment Opportunity Staff are co-sponsoring a brownbag lunch on same-sex domestic partner benefits with Robert Shriver, Senior Policy Counsel, Office of Personnel Management, on Wednesday, November 9, 2011 in the Andretta Room. Although many benefits available to opposite-sex spouses of federal employees are also available to same-sex spouses or domestic partners of LGBT federal employees, some important benefits – like health insurance and survivor annuity – are not. Come learn what benefits are currently available to same-sex spouses/partners of federal employees, why certain benefits have not been extended to same-sex spouse/partners, and the status of legislative efforts to obtain equal benefits for all federal employees. Everyone (including Human Resources representatives) welcome!

  1. As the new FDC seatac LGBT program manager, is there anyway we can get a copy of this information. It seems that DOJ has information that we in the BOP are not receiving. As a LGBT person in the BOP and I am sure others would like to know what is available for our partners and what is coming down the pike.
